The National Environment Agency (NEA) is giving a free Bloobox home recycling box to every household in Singapore to encourage recycling at home. It aims to help households recycle right and reduce the contamination rate in the blue recycling bins. Designed in collaboration with a team of students from the Singapore Institute of Technology, the Bloobox is foldable, can be washed and reused and can hold up to 5kg of paper, plastic, metal or glass recyclables, or e-waste.
The Blooboxes are available to collect from vending machines located islandwide from now until Sunday 30th April 2023. Simply scan the barcode of your Singapore-issued identification document, e.g. NRIC, FIN card or SingPass Digital NRIC, or key in your NRIC or FIN number at the vending machine to redeem your free Bloobox. The Bloobox will come with instructions printed on it to help households identify what can and cannot be recycled.
